About
Merge Anuke
Merge Anuke is a small, independent review blog about outdoor wooden benches - the ones you put on a patio, a porch, a balcony or at the end of a garden path.
What we publish
- Buying guides that explain what a specification actually means: slat thickness, joinery, hardware, seat depth, weight rating.
- Wood comparisons for the species that matter outdoors - teak, cedar, acacia, eucalyptus, shorea and pressure-treated pine - because the wood decides the price, the weight and the maintenance.
- Care and maintenance routines: cleaning, oiling, covering, and how to bring a grey weathered bench back.
- Accessories, mainly cushions and covers, which change how often a bench gets used far more than most people expect.
How we work
Recommendations are organised by situation, not by brand. Two benches sold in the same category can differ enormously in the details that decide their lifespan, so every guide describes those details and lets you apply them to whatever listings you find.
Where a category has a genuine weakness - soft wood that dents, hinges that fail, finishes that splinter in a season - we say so rather than smooth it over.
